Deogratias Peter Rutatwa

Deogratius Peter Rutatwa is a dedicated medical sociologist specializing in public health and poverty alleviation. With a remarkable tenure as the CEO of the National Council of People Living with HIV in Tanzania (NACOPHA) since 2009, he has consistently demonstrated his passion for improving the lives of individuals affected by HIV/AIDS.

Over the course of more than 23 years, Deogratius has played a pivotal role in managing and implementing various projects centered around HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, policy analysis, advocacy, community development programs, research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning. His extensive experience includes collaboration with the Government of Tanzania and esteemed development partners such as PEPFAR, USAID, UN agencies, Global Fund, AVAC, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
